Hey Hip-Hop heads, do you guys remember that Margiela jacket that Kanye was talking about in ‘Niggas In Paris’?  You may be able to wear it- well not “it” but something like it, very soon.

Rumors have been flooding the web these past few days with speculations about H&M’s newest high fashion collaborator. And it’s official, only one day after rumors surfaced that Maison Martin Margiela will be H&M’s fabulous fall season collab designer. With the release of a very simple ad campaign the truth is finally out!

French designer Maison Martin Margiela was created in the fashion capitol of the world, Paris during the year of 1988. The brand has upheld this identity for being a very conceptual line with an avant-garde creativity that severs it from it’s numerous competitors. With the personal style of the Margiela brand, one cannot help but to think of how well it will mesh with the commercial style of H&M.

Sweden born, H&M, is virtually known for being a commercial brand that caters to its buyers by creating stylish and seasonal pieces at extremely reasonable prices. With these prices, more recently, the big retail chain has been giving its buyers a taste of the high fashion life through previous collaborations with designers such as, Lanvin, Versace, Stella McCartney, Jimmy Choo and Marni. Though all these designers are special in their own right, H&M’s collaboration with Margiela is set to be its most interesting.

Completely different in so many ways, is what the two brands seem to be. But the one thing that they both share in common is the idea that fashion is a democracy.  Together the two brands plan to mesh their styles to sell, not just fashion but an idea as well.

The collection is set to launch on November 15th later this year, in about 230 stores world wide and online, given that the H&M e-commerce website is launched by then as well.

This should be rather interesting.
