Black History Month: The Future

Funny shit huh? This year, we have 29 days. Though there will never be enough days within one month that even begins to compare to amounts of days that were a part of the fight for Civil Rights for African-Americans.

In a world where the views of racism and equal hardships remain presence, can a generation of Black/Afro-American people really celebrate ideals of black power, solidarity, and freedoms with just one month?

The culture is prolific in their distinguishable features. As the history shows, there is pure talent in the arts, teachings, and athletics, which have seen to be incomparable, however, the self-destructive nature of some individuals still surround the culture and race with common stigmas. The number of Black/Afro-American individuals in prison, are the most among any other race.

So, what has to be done? Black/Afro-Americans have been making the strides and it shows in one major poll, the amount of Black/Afro-Americans that have graduated college over the years. The numbers still have their gaps, especially with the completion of men not being as high as women, however, the percentage of Black/Afro-Americans graduating from school as it compares to it’s attendees is the stand-out.

This is what it is. The Black/Afro-American people will not be misguided by the self-destructive and/or racially depressing stigmas anymore. As the years continue, the future will be set and set with high standards, with the Black Pride, of course, being the beaming entity in its own right. However, for professional reasons, it will be keep modestly discrete.
