Miami Beach Interanational Fashion Week

 

Miami Beach International Fashion Week is the largest Latin American and international fashion event in the world. Miami Beach International Week has evolved into one of the world’s premier fashion events spotlighting designers from Europe, USA and Canada, the Caribbean, Middle East and Asia. The prominent fashion event took place at the Miami Beach Convention Center Hall-A. The 13th annual Miami Beach Fashion Week kicked off with a bang with the official opening night March 3, 2011 started with the Lingerie/Swim Showcase, featuring MaddSexy Lingerie – USA, Zella Machado Swimwear – Brazil, Eugene Jones Swimwear – USA, Kanomi Swimwear – Venzuela, De Lancret Swimwear – USA, Sambarela Swimwear – Brazil and ending on the rooftop of the beautiful Gansevoort Miami Beach.

March 4, 2011 launched the Jamaica Showcase, featuring designers, POSHE by Camesha Powell, Julian by Juliette Dyke, and the Jamaican Collective and also featured in the event, two finalist from Jamaica’s Mission Catwalk Designers Challenge ShennaCarby and Ayanna Dixon. Following the Jamaica Showcase were the Men’s showcase, featuring designs by Mauricio Alberino and Robert Flores with performances by Elian Quesada and model turned recording star, Bea Pernia.

March 5, 2011 – Pret-A- Porter Style Showcase with designs by Bata Spasojevic, winner of 2010 Miami Beach Fashion Week designer competition at Banja Luka Fashion Fair in Bosnia and Herzegovina, followed by the Copa Airlines Showcase, featuring Latin American designers Claudia Bertolero, Federico Visuetti, and Giovanni with a special performance by Los Primeros.

Closing night of Miami Beach Fashion Week took place on March 6, 2011, with the television and radio host, Brian Andrews and IIeana Garcia, hosting the Miami Moda and Music Awards show, including a special presentation “Black Swan” by Miami Designers and performances by Miami City Ballet and recording artist RIA.
