Street Soldiers: Push 4 Peace

In a year that has, thus far, been highlighted by an abundance of teenage murders, those of which have been young people of color, the need for peace, though long overdue, is being conveyed further to the public. Hot 97′s, Lisa Evers w/ Street Soldiers and the COBA City of New York Corrections put forth the effort for the young people to gather the establish the idea of peace. Hip-Hop is a community that is probably the…the most influential genre of music since Rock ‘N’ Roll in the early 80′s. Hip-Hop fuels our cultures from the 18 – 31 year old world.

The 80′s babies are the influential group of people that stand up for all things Hip-Hop. With notable panelists like Hip-hop stars Prodigy, of Mobb Deep, Maino, and Giants former offensive linemen, Kareem Mckenzie. Potentially the best way to reach out to the youth is to bring people to the forefront that they can relate to. Bronx Borough President, Ruben Diaz Jr. and New York City Correction Officers’ Benevolent Association President, Norman Seabrook are amongst the panelists and co sponsoring the event.
